In 2007, Janet Barsanti founded J.Mode in the heart of Historic Salem, Massachusetts. She builds confidence for her customers and empowers women daily through personal styling and curating timeless looks over fast fashion. Janet’s industry knowledge, experience in corporate retail and devotion to enhancing our community has made J.Mode a destination for stylish women. Janet runs J.Mode, with the help of her daughter Courtney, and considers it more than a Boutique. J.Mode is the women we serve; mothers, daughters, workers, vacation lovers, and professional life jugglers.

J.Mode believes everyday style should be special, high quality, comfortable, functional and beautiful. Featuring premium clothing and accessory brands like Xirena, CP Shades, Johnny Was, Velvet by Graham and Spencer, Vince, Joe’s Jeans, DL 1961 Premium Denim, Oliphant, Rails and Chan Luu. 

Janet is a mother of 2, grandmother to 3 and lifelong North Shore resident. When she isn’t at J.Mode, she can be found on a nature walk, traveling with her husband, supporting local charities, reading on Crane’s Beach, or knitting for her grandchildren. She firmly believes that pajamas should never be worn in public, and feels her best in a button down and blazer.
